From the hurling of contaminated carcasses into enemy territories in ancient times to the covert and sinister experiments conducted during the tumultuous 20th century, the timeline of bioweaponry is rife with ethical, humanitarian, and security concerns. The establishment of the Biological Weapons Convention (BWC) in 1972 marked a significant milestone in international efforts to curtail the production and use of biological weapons.
